The Christmas easy-listening album by Paul Mauriat and His Orchestra, originally released in 1967, with bonus tracks released in 1971, 1977 and 1978 on the Philips label, together on one CD and remastered from the original analogue stereo tapes for Vocalion's trademark crystal-clear sound.

Leben is the third studio album by German electronic musician, composer and producer Christopher von Deylen under his Schiller alias. It features collaborations with renowned vocalists such as Sarah Brightman, Maya Saban, Peter Heppner and Kim Sanders.

Wir Lieben Bacharach! – or We Love Bacharach! – is a particular treat. With 18 tracks recorded between 1965 and 1973, it contains the songs that are the crème of the crop of the Bacharach and David ouevre: “Close to You,” “I Say a Little Prayer,” “A House is Not a Home.” But listening to this compilation, you might know those tunes as “So wie ich,” “Ich wunsche mir so viel von dir” and “Ein Haus ist kein Zuhaus” as performed by Karel Gott, Bata Illic and Corry Brokken, respectively! But in addition to the familiar classics, there are rare German renditions of “The Green Grass Starts to Grow,” “Hasbrook Heights,” “Paper Mache” and “The Wine is Young,” too, all favorites of Bacharach diehards including yours truly. Some arrangements hew closely to the originals (Gus Backus’ “Hallo, Pussycat” – you can guess the English title!) while others offer unique re-interpretations (Die Caravelles’ “In Gedanken bin ich bei dir,” or “True Love Never Runs Smooth”). For those who understand German, the translations are often far from literal, so that adds another dimension to these recordings. The booklet has full-color reproductions of sixteen original LP and single sleeves, plus discographical information and liner notes – in German, of course! (review by Joe Marchese)

French composer/conductor Paul Mauriat is a classically trained musician who decided to pursue a career in popular music. His first major success came in 1962, as a co-writer of the European hit "Chariot." In 1963, the song was given English lyrics, renamed "I Will Follow Him," and became a number one American hit for Little Peggy March. Mauriat is best remembered for his 1968 worldwide smash "Love Is Blue."

Zeitgeist (Spirit of the Age) is the debut album by German electronical act Schiller. It featured the singles Das Glockenspiel, Liebesschmerz and Ruhe, all of which reached the Top 30 of the German singles charts. This is limited edition includes bonus disc.

5CD Box Set The Anniversary Edition by James Last was released in 2009 by Universal Music GmbH. James Last was a German composer and big band leader of the James Last Orchestra. Initially a jazz bassist, his trademark "happy music" made his numerous albums best-sellers in Germany and the United Kingdom, with 65 of his albums reaching the charts in the UK alone. Last is reported to have sold an estimated 200 million albums worldwide in his lifetime, of which 80 million were sold by 1973 - and won numerous awards including 200 gold and 14 platinum discs in Germany, the International MIDEM Prize at MIDEM in 1969, and West Germany's highest civilian award, the Bundesverdienstkreuz in 1978. Last's trademark sound employed big band arrangements of well-known tunes with a jaunty dance beat, often heavy on bass and brass.

After Paris and New York (more precisely Broadway), the last part of his travel trilogy Götz Alsmann leads to Rome. In his endeavor to successfully breathe new life into the jazz hit, Götzi has dedicated himself this time to Italian songs. In addition to well-known and less well-known Italian hits like Paolo Contes "Azzurro" (famous in the version of Adriano Celentano), "Nel blu di pinto di blu (Volare)" or "Ciao ciao bambina", which he has eloquently translated into German as usual , with "Caprifischer" but also a German song from the 50s, which reflects the Germans' Italian feeling at the time, and the American classic "Mambo Italiano" by Rosemary Clooney. Götz Alsmann is back. With a brand new, "L.I.E.B.E." titled studio album, his sixth overall for the renowned jazz label Blue Note. Of course he was never gone. But in recent years the master of the German jazz hit has shown himself to be more internationally oriented musically on records and in live concerts. Frank Duval is a German composer, conductor, record producer, songwriter and singer. Born into an artists' family, he studied as an actor and dancer, but also sang with his sister, Maria. By the 1960s, Duval was also composing music, both orchestral and pop, and his first soundtrack, for an episode of the German serial Tatort, was broadcast in 1977. From his 1979 first album, Die Schönsten Melodien Aus Derrick und der Alte, the song "Todesengel" became a moderate hit.
